Chapter 1: Out of Cesium

Today was a beautiful, sunny, cloudless day on the outskirts of the city of Cesium, on the planet Chromium. The calm breeze gently brushed past the Crunos trees in an elegant manner. I laid myself, a golden Yoshi with a yellow belly with brown eyes and brown spikes, back upon my hammock wearing my favorite red T-shirt, black shorts and black shoes. This place was the life I’ve always hoped for. There are some drawbacks; sometimes it gets a little too silent out here, but even that is one of the great things about it. Countless times have I’ve been to the city of Cesium. It isn’t as bad a town as its name, and almost all the folks there are pretty decent to a certain extent, but none know the benefits of being out here near the woods.
My house was basically a log cabin with just one entire room. In it was still some high-tech equipment, mostly used for creating new weaponry. It also contained a fireplace upon which my sword, the Onyx blade, was mounted. My blade itself was an onyx black sword with a red tip, and two sets of spikes on the blade, one green near the tip and the other golden, around the middle of the blade. It had a blue hilt and green handle-guards with a red gem at the bottom.
Ah, the woods near the city, one of the most peaceful places. I haven’t found one thing that tried to attack me once. Well, that could be because I learned some druidic skills. Despite my lack of the knowledge of being a true druid, and the fact of the lack of power, I learned well from my friend Orchid. She had taught me and one friend I used to have, Abby. There are some days that I want to see Abby again.

“Hmmm…I wonder what I could do for today?” I thought, “I’ve already done so much, but there is one thing that I could do…but what could…”
My thought was broken by a sudden rumbling. I fell to the floor, due to the fact that my hammock was thrown off balance from a loop bolt coming out of the wooden pillar for my porch.
Just in case my house would fall apart I ran far enough away from my home. My wooden-built home, which was the original color of a red Crunos, fell apart from the intense surges. Though just as quickly as it had begun, it stopped. I went over to my home in horror.

“Man…I just built this a month ago!” I groaned, “It took me two years to build it perfectly!”
I picked up my blade, that had been over what used to be my fireplace, and put it on my back. I began to try and rebuild some of my house, when more of the rumbling came back.
“Whoa! That isn’t no earthquake…it is much too strong!”
From the direction of the aftershock, it felt like it came from the city, which was not a good sign to me. I went to my still-standing garage and brought out my gray hover bike. I hopped on it and rode it towards the city. Whatever was making such a powerful quake like that; it had to be very immense in its strength and mass.
Within a few moments I arrived at Cesium. I skidded to a halt, due to sudden terror, and the fact that my bike broke down. The entire town had been decimated! Almost nothing but debris was left. I drifted through the town calling out to see if anyone was alive.
“Hey! Anyone out there?! Hello!” I repeated for the tenth time. I soon came in between a church and a school.
“Help me!” sounded a weak pale voice.
I got off my bike quickly and went to the church remains first. There I found Ms. Silvah, a friend from Sunday church meetings. I got a beam off her and helped her up. I could already detect a few broken ribs within her. She was a silver raccoon with a gold-ringed tail, platinum gray muzzle and slightly red hair. Today, as always she wore her fancy lacy black dress and blue sandals. Ms. Silvah looked at herself in disgust, as the beam and the remains of the church ruined her dress.
“Aww! I just cleaned this yesterday!” she moaned.
“You think you had it bad Ms. Silvah…I lost my darn house.”
“Well…that is bad…you finished it just last month didn’t you?”
“Yes…but it matters not. Whatever is destroyed, can be rebuilt. Now let’s go see if we can find some of the others.”

We strolled further into the city, where there was much more carnage. Large and small business buildings were now just a pile of rubble. Nothing had been spared from the wrath of whatever hit this city. Though there was no one to be seen. Me and Ms. Silvah were the only ones left from the catastrophic event. Both of us called out to try and find someone, but to no avail, no one was left but us.
"Looks like whatever hit killed everyone but you and me."
"Well...this is the most horrible thing that happened to this city ever. Who would want to destroy Cesium?"
"I'm not sure, but that may explain the reason!" I gradually came to a yell. A gargantuan machine-like beetle was coming our way. "Run!"
We both sprinted the opposite way to try and outrun the machine. It gained in on us very quickly. It was not long before it was only ten feet behind us. I grabbed Ms. Silvah's arm and pulled her to our left to get out of its pathway. We kept on running for a while. I soon looked back, to the beetle, and saw it turning to come at us.
"Crap! Ms. Silvah! Run far away...I'll try to stop it."
She dared not to argue, knowing how I use my magic. The thing got much closer. I knew I'd have a small window to get on, and if I missed I would fall to the ground and die, and my powers would not save me.
It was very close, and the moment to try was now. I quickly used my blade's powers to launch me up into the air. There was a extremely small platform to land on, giving me little room for error. Using my control over the wind I landed on the machine and found a hatch inside, and made my way in.

I found myself in a corridor. There were no alarms as I had entered.
"Strange...something should of the alerted the guards in this beetle." I mumbled, "I'd best keep my guard up."
Slowly I made my way through a labyrinth of hallways, checking upon what rooms that showed up. None of the rooms I checked contained anything but odds and ends, which is unnatural for a war-machine. Soon though I came to what looked like the command room for the beetle. There I found no one in sight.
"If no one is here on board, then who or what is controlling this damn thing?"
I walked up to the console, which seemed to be on auto-pilot.
"Step back from the console! Now!" a voice yelled.
I looked behind me, but no one was there.
"Who said that?" I asked.
A plasma blast was fired at my feet for a warning shot. I dodged it, and got away from the console. I barely understood where the blast came from.
"Leave now or be annihilated!"
"Must be the computer. Damn! I have to shut it down or it will destroy everything on this planet!" I thought.
A few more blasts came my way, I avoided them and got out of the room.
"I'm sure there is a room that contains the master computer, I've got to get to it!"
Not too long before I was ready to go, a few robots came my way around the corner. They started firing at me.
"I cannot get a damn break can I?"
I ran the opposite way, ducking and dodging to avoid getting shot, which proved to be difficult, as more of the robots followed me. After an hour of searching I was about ready to give up and escape the machine. I then found the master control room. I tried to go through the door, but it was locked. Though I improvised and made a door of my own through the steel wall, with the help of my magical abilities. Once inside I started to hack away at the everything inside, and swiftly left the room. I felt the machine stop, but I had a feeling something was wrong. The beetle started to shake and I heard an alarm go off.
"WARNING! NUCLEAR REACTOR OVERLOAD! EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY!"
"Freaking figures!" I shouted, "I hate these types of machines!"
Taking no time to waste, I sprinted to the exit. The robots I encountered earlier had fell to the ground, making my escape a hazardous-free one. Once I got up on the platform I propelled myself with a tornado, I was soon far away from the machine. I landed safely about fifty miles away. Upon my landing I heard an disturbing explosive BOOM! Though, as if right on time, Ms. Silvah appeared after having seeing the blast herself.
"Great job, Cody. At least that machine is gone for good." she said, "Did you find out who made it?"
"No...although a computer was controlling the whole thing. Whoever we are dealing with, has a vast amount of technology in their hands. We won't be able to head back due to radiation, that blast must of released a ton of radioactive dust into the air. If we stay here, we'll breathe too much of it in and die, or worse."
"What can be worse than death?"
"I'd rather not tell you."
The both of us began to travel.

An hour before dark we had gotten very far, but at our pace we wouldn't escape the radioactive dust in time. Plus Ms. Silvah had trouble keeping up with me.
"Cody...I'm not sure how much further I can go without taking a break...I'm only a lady for god's sake."
"We can't take a break, that dust will get inside our bodies and we could die."
"Well...couldn't you let me ride on your back...you are after all a Yoshi"
I looked back at her with a somewhat ticked off face.
"Not all Yoshis like people riding on their backs Ms. Silvah...I'm no exception. Unless you pay me something, then I suggest you forget it."
"How about...fifty gold?"
"Okay."
She hopped herself onto my back, and I began to walk. She adjusted herself too much on my back
"This is quite comfy."
"Yeah...well don't get too comfortable...once we are out of range of the dust, you are going to get off and pay me."
I ran quickly. Ms. Silvah held on tightly to avoid falling off.
Chapter 1 my story: The Narkhonian a story based on my yoshi char, Cody. In a way...it's a fanfic...in a way it's also not one, due to most of the chars being mine and being varied in what they are.

Okay...I know the prologue is confusing...this a part of my series where I start switching from my main char Ryan the Shadow Prince to another.

This is only the prologue...more will be on the way.
If i hear some good comments about this...I will post the next one.

Remember...stories take time to correct...and I know there are still some errors, especially grammar...

to fully understand this part...I would have to give you a complete and total summary of the things that happened before this.

NO PMs ASKING FOR SUCH...IT IS WAY TOO CLASSIFIED!

All chars are (c) me

Thus chapter kind of sucks imo...not mch going on yet...
